Library + XR Space
NYU Shanghai’s Library is at the heart of the University’s commitment to outstanding teaching, research and public services. It not only hosts a curated collection of books and media resources, but also serves as a gateway to NYU’s massive online resources. Here, users are just a click away from 90,000 e-journals, nearly one million e-books, and over a thousand databases. The 5,000-square-meter library is equipped with a Digital Studio, Visualization Lab, Active Learning Classroom, High Performance Computer Lab, the XR Space, and the One Button Studio. Students and faculty will be able to receive professional consultation and support from librarians, library staff and instructional technologists for a wide range of academic needs.
Group Study Rooms
Group Study Rooms are located on the fifth and sixth floor as part of the Library. NYU Shanghai students, faculty, and staff can find 32 reservable spaces with varying sizes and technology capabilities. Group study rooms are ideal places to conduct collaborative study or group work, with some of them featuring MaxHub interactive panels. Users can easily reserve a room on the NYU Shanghai website or by scanning a QR code.
High-Performance Computer Lab
The library’s High-Performance Computer Lab is equipped with eight Mac and eight PC workstations for work requiring faster CPU and graphic performance. These powerful workstations help researchers and students process data and perform complex calculations at high speeds.
XR SPACE
The XR Space is an expanded and improved version of the VR Room on the Century Avenue campus, which was only a quarter of the size. The new lab features a grid system for more flexible use. The room can be rearranged to account for different devices, and all the cables and cords are connected to the walls and ceilings to avoid tripping.
