The Helen and Martin Kimmel Center for University Life is the heart of student life at NYU. Here, you’ll find not only the Office of Student Life but also lounges for studying, classrooms, great views of the city, and so much more.

Want to meet a friend between classes? Try Peet’s Coffee on the 2nd floor. Or, make it a lunch at the Marketplace on the 3rd floor. Be sure to take in the views of Washington Square Park while you eat.

Kimmel is also home to resources that make student life at NYU better for everyone. The Office of Student Activities, for example, is the seat of the Student Senators Council. They work with the NYU administration to create programming and initiatives that represent the spirit of NYU.

Are you a commuter student? Then check out the Commuter Lounge. It’s got resources from lockers to printing in addition to information about off-campus living and staying connected.

You’ll also find the Center for Multicultural and Educational Programs and the LGBTQ+ Center. Both offer robust programming throughout the year.

Need some time to pause and reflect? Kimmel is attached the Global Center for Academic and Spiritual Life. There, you can access prayer services, meditation spaces, and mindfulness resources.

Swing by NYU Box Office to get tickets to events at the NYU Skirball Center, which is also attached to Kimmel. Additionally, you can nab discounted seats to Broadway shows and sporting events. Or, practice your own craft in Kimmel’s dance studios and music practice rooms.

Student life at NYU is full of lectures, performances, and collaborative events. These happen daily in Kimmel’s larger spaces. At the annual NYU World Tour, for example, you can experience a little slice of each of NYU’s global sites through music, dance, and food.

Your student life at NYU begins with Welcome Week. It is capped off at Kimmel with a themed dance, like the Glo Ball. And throughout your time at NYU, you’ll come to Kimmel for events like Club Fest, comedy nights, career development workshops, and everything in between.
