The Kimmel Center Is the Heart of Student Life at NYU

Want to meet a friend between classes? Try Peet’s Coffee on the second floor. Or make it a lunch at the Marketplace on the third floor. Be sure to take in the views of Washington Square Park while you eat.

Kimmel is also home to resources that make student life at NYU better for everyone. The Office of Student Activities, for example, is located on the second floor, where you’ll also find leaders of the Student Senators Council.

Are you a commuter student? Then check out the Commuter Lounge. It offers resources from lockers to printing to information about off-campus living and staying connected.

Looking to unwind before (or after) class? At The Nest, NYU’s device-free lounge, students secure their phones and laptops in locked charging stations and connect with one another IRL. Additional lounges with charging outlets (and great views!) are located throughout the building.

The Kimmel Center is also home to the Center for Multicultural Education and Programs and the LGBTQ+ Center. Both offer robust programming throughout the year.

Need somewhere to pause and reflect? Kimmel is attached to the Global Center for Academic and Spiritual Life. There, you can access prayer services, meditation spaces, and mindfulness resources.

Swing by the NYU Box Office to get discounted tickets to your favorite Broadway shows and New York City sporting events. You can also grab tickets to all the exciting events and shows at the NYU Skirball Center, which is also attached to Kimmel. If you’d rather be the one on stage, you can practice your craft in Kimmel’s dance studios and music practice rooms.

Student life at NYU is full of performances, lectures, festivals, and collaborative events. From comedy nights to career development workshops and well-being festivals (complete with farmers markets and puppy yoga, of course) to art showcases, you never know what you’ll come across in Kimmel’s larger spaces.
