Congrats! You just got some pretty exciting, and maybe unexpected news – you’ve been admitted to NYU from the waitlist! You likely have questions, and we have answers.

To get you started, here are the top 5 things you need to know about your offer:

1. You have 4 days to make a decision.

Your waitlist offer of admission is valid for 4 days, and your deadline is in your decision letter. Different students will get wait list offers at different times, so make sure you’re looking at your deadline, and not your best friend’s. If you miss your deadline, you will forfeit your place on the waitlist.

2. Carefully read your acceptance letter.

There are a lot of paths students can take to start at NYU. Make sure that you carefully read your acceptance letter to understand the semester, school, and major you are admitted to.

Admitted as a Spring Admission student? We have a few extra resources that may come in handy. Check out our Spring Admission web page to learn more about this unique opportunity.

3. Want more information?

We’re offering an admitted student information session just for students who are admitted off of the waitlist. You can register for a session from your decision tab in your Home Base.

Want more information than that? Under the Events tab of your Admitted Student Portal is a list of admitted student webinar recordings from the last few weeks. You can get information about Financial Aid, Life Beyond the Classroom, and much, much more!

4. We’re here to help!

If you have questions, let us know by email [email protected] or by phone 212-998-4500. Remember: You have a short window to get your questions answered and make a decision, so attending one of our live info sessions (see #3!) might be the fastest way to get your questions answered.

Need to email us? Make sure you send the email from the email address on your application and you will go to the top of our list–most often receiving a reply within a few hours.

5. You did it!

The NYU Class of 2027 is the most selective class in our history. Congratulations for making it to this point. Being admitted to this class is a remarkable accomplishment – take a moment to celebrate.

I cannot wait to welcome you to campus!
