When you’re on our admissions site or your NYU applicant portal, have you seen a little violet circle bouncing in the right corner of your screen ? That’s our NYUAdmissionsBot! Although we at NYU Admissions do our best to make the application process as seamless as possible, we understand that a variety of questions may arise along the way.

Using generative AI, the NYUAdmissionsBot offers real-time, conversational, and efficient answers to your questions by drawing information from our web pages. The bot is the fastest and easiest way to get answers to your application questions but make sure you’re on the right webpage- transfer questions can be answered on the transfer page and first-year questions can be answered on the first-year page.

Pro-Tips for using the NYUAdmissionsBot:

  • Make sure words are spelled correctly (i.e. application, not aplication) so that the bot can understand what you’re asking!
  • A full thought is better than one word! (i.e. “When will I get my decision?” vs. “decision”)
  • The bot is not a person, even though it’s friendly! Be patient and know that it can’t answer everything.

Fun Fact: The bot’s design is the letters “N” (hand), “Y” (hair), and “U” (body) combined! Also, the bot has a favorite color – you’ll have to ask to find out!

NYUAdmissionsBot is available 24/7 to answer your questions about admissions. Just like any bot, it can get stumped! No need to worry though, because if it’s not able to answer your question, it will give you the option to speak with a live agent, when available, or link you to a contact form that will go straight to our admissions office. Our admissions team will respond to your question by email within 1-2 business days.

Happy chatting!
