You Don’t Have to be a Business Major to Study Business!

Within SPS, there are three undergraduate majors that specialize in particular aspects of business. You can learn the ins and outs of hospitality in Hotel and Tourism Management. You could also study housing and the urban landscape in the 21st century with Real Estate. Or if you want to get your head in the game, major in Sports Management and be an expert in the sports industry. So, all are great options if you know you want to hone in on a specific industry right out of school. And they all have practical, hands on experience baked into the program.

For those thinking about working in tech, Tandon offers a unique perspective with the Business and Technology Management major. Here you’ll get the best of both worlds with courses focusing on finance, management, and entrepreneurship, as well as the influences of technology and innovation in today’s world. Also, you can specialize in Technology and Innovation Strategy in Finance within BTM. And you get to be a business major at NYU, while also specializing in the tech industry!

The Music Business major at NYU Steinhardt is truly the bee’s knees! It’s perfect for those who are looking to make a career within the music industry. In addition, the program gives you a solid education in music, business, and the liberal arts. Internships are a huge component as well.

The Economics major within CAS is a very theoretical approach to how global economies function. There are two concentrations offered: Policy or Theory. Additionally, students can complete a dual major with Computer Science or Mathematics, both of which can be useful in today’s job market. And to top it all off, Econ majors can earn a M.A. with their B.A. in Economics in the dual degree program offered between CAS and the Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS). Plenty of these graduates end up working in finance or at top firms and companies like Goldman Sachs or J.P. Morgan. So remember, those jobs aren’t solely for business majors!
