Located in bustling Downtown Brooklyn, NYU’s Downtown Brooklyn campus sits around the tree-filled Brooklyn Commons.  Home to our Tandon School of Engineering as well as several programs within the Tisch School of the Arts and the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development our students thrive in the Brooklyn Tech Triangle, the heart of New York City’s growing tech scene.

Jacobs Academic Building

The Jacobs Academic Building is the main academic building for the Tandon School of Engineering students. With a plethora of classrooms, lecture halls, and research labs, Jacobs is also home to the Polytechnic Tutoring Center (PTC) on the 3rd floor, which is accessible to all students for review sessions, test prep and more. This academic building allows Tandon’s students to fully engage in the curriculum, based on both a well-rounded liberal arts background as well as hands-on experiential learning.

MakerSpace

The MakerSpace is a start of the art lab designed for hands-on creation! It fosters an environment where students feel comfortable bringing their original ideas to life. Through programming in the DesignLab, students have access to mentors and other professional development opportunities.

Othmer Residence Hall

Othmer Hall is one of two residence hall options for students living in Brooklyn. All Tandon School of Engineering who live on campus during their freshman year will live in one of these two halls. Traditional style rooms and apartment style rooms are available for students.

Dibner Library of Science and Technology

5 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY, USA

The Bern Dibner Library of Science & Technology, more affectionately known as Dibner, is part of NYU’s 11-library system, and also houses the Game Innovation Lab. Dibner’s resources have largely been converted into electronic format, allowing for more physical study space within the library - despite the 5.9 million volumes available. NYU partners with other colleges and libraries to use their resources, many of which can be ordered online and delivered to one of the main libraries

Wunsch Building

311 Bridge Street, Brooklyn, NY, USA

The Wunsch Building is a historic landmark having served as the First Congregational Church and an important stop on the Underground Railroad. The building is now home to the undergraduate admissions and Wasserman Center for Career Development offices at our Downtown Brooklyn Campus. Located in Metrotech Center, students are able to get connected to some of New York City’s largest companies including JP Morgan, Verizon, and the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets, all of which have offices steps away.

Brooklyn Commons

Brooklyn Commons, MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY, USA

The center of our Brooklyn campus is the Brooklyn Commons. This space is home to some of New York City’s leading technology companies, as well as some of the leading companies in safety, culture and finance. NYU students use this space to eat lunch, study and attend the variety of events offered here.

MAGNET

2 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY, USA

The Media and Games Network (MAGNET) brings together students and staff from schools across NYU, including Tandon, Tisch, Steinhardt, and the College of Arts and Science. This multidisciplinary space has classrooms, lab space, a black box theater, an audio studio and mixing booth, and other shared spaces for students. The carefully designed shared spaces encourage integration of curriculum and collaboration.

370 Jay Street

370 Jay Street, Jay Street, Brooklyn, NY, USA

370 Jay Street, formerly known as the Transportation Building or Transit Building, is located at the northwest corner of Jay Street and Willoughby Street within the MetroTech Center complex in Downtown Brooklyn. NYU is working with the city of New York to transform the long-empty 370 Jay Street building into an innovation hub for engineering, applied science, urban science, digital technology, and digital media arts. Currently, students from Tandon, Tisch, and Steinhardt utilize labs, classrooms, and tech resources at 370 Jay, with plans to expand for even more program offerings.
