Located at 181 Mercer Street, the sustainably designed John A. Paulson Center adds 735,000 square feet of space to NYU’s Washington Square campus. Inside are two residential colleges with themed housing options. Academic-focused spaces include modern classrooms, music instruction and practice rooms, and three new state-of-the-art theatres. The Paulson Center also hosts one of NYU’s four New York City athletic facilities. Home of NYU Athletics, the new state-of-the-art facility includes a six-lane swimming pool, NCAA regulation basketball courts, fitness and weight rooms, squash courts, and an indoor track. The new building is also boasts two new dining facilities, a green roof, and a number of community spaces.

Plenty of lockers are available throughout the building for students to leave their things for a few hours or rent for a semester.

The 25-yard, six-lane pool offers lap swimming and classes for swimmers of all levels.

The Paulson Center is the hub for varsity and intramural sports and recreational activities on campus and includes four all-purpose courts, a jogging track, martial arts rooms, cardio and weight training areas, a swimming pool, and squash courts.

In the Paulson Center’s two residential colleges, students live in studios, single bedrooms, or low-occupancy suites. Accessible housing is also available.
