Class of 2028, are you ready to celebrate?

We can’t wait to meet you in September – and the good news is…we don’t have to! NYU Shanghai is hosting Admitted Student Weekend for the NYU Shanghai Class of 2028 on April 26-27.

Admitted Student Weekend is your chance to come to Shanghai, check out our campus, and begin to see what your life as an NYU Shanghai student will be like…and let me tell you, it’s going to be amazing.

What to Expect

We have a jam-packed 2-day program that includes remarks from campus leadership, sample class experiences, time for admitted students to connect with current students, and time for parents to connect with other parents.

We’ll take you exploring in the city of Shanghai, show you our residence halls and campus resources, answer your questions, and so much more.

Planning your trip

We’ll take care of your hotel for two nights, your meals on campus, and some amazing programming – all you need to do is get to Shanghai.

We encourage you to start making your travel arrangements as soon as possible. If you require a visa to enter China, it could take up to 2.5 weeks to process it. Check with your nearest Chinese embassy or consulate for information about securing a visa, but here are a few tips:

  • Make sure to apply for a tourist visa (the L visa).  You can request a 10 year, multiple entry visa (depending on your citizenship), but you may only receive 1-2 entries.

Make sure you have all required documentation before you go to the nearest consulate/embassy (there may be different documentation depending on where you are from).  If you do not live near a Chinese consulate or embassy, you will need to work with an agency.  Keep in mind that this will add time to your visa processing, and you may not be able to complete the process in  time before you need to leave for Admitted Student Weekend.  Many of our students have used the agency CIBT (NYU Shanghai does not formally recommend or endorse any agencies).

Can’t make it?

We get it! We have other options to connect with you over the next month – check out your Home Base portal for more. And if you make it to Shanghai between now and September, make sure to let us know so we can show you around!
