Admitted Student Events: Designed with You in Mind

Since you can’t visit us right now, we are bringing the celebration to your living room! Join us on April 10 and 11 for our marquee admitted student event weekend. Home for the Weekend will allow you to connect with peers, faculty, and staff at sessions and expos over the course of the weekend. So this is your chance to learn more about the University while being immersed in the unique NYU student experience. After you view your admissions decision, you’ll get an email that includes your personalized registration link for Home for the Weekend. 

And it doesn’t stop there. We have a whole host of other admitted student events this month for you to enjoy. See the full list below. You can also find more information and links to register on the “Events and More” tab of your Home Base. 

We know that making the decision about which college to attend is a big one. So at this event, parents and other family members can join in on the conversation too. They’ll get advice from NYU parents and hear from staff about the transition. Share the relevant link with the important adults in your life.

The Academics tab of your Home Base has all you need to know about the school you’ve been admitted to. It’ll have a welcome message from your dean, link out to interesting articles about your school’s academic experience, and so much more. Most importantly, don’t forget to sign up for Home for the Weekend. This is where we roll out the virtual red carpet and you have the chance to hear directly from academic leadership and current students from the school you were admitted.

If you want to experience an NYU class taught by a world-renowned professor, this is the session for you. These TED-style mini lectures featuring professors from our three campuses will give you the peak into the classroom that you’ve been craving. New sessions will be added throughout April, and you can register for these events on the “Events & More” tab of your Home Base.

These fireside chats between current students and NYU alumni will highlight the incredible professional resources at NYU. In addition, the alumni will talk about their paths to success and how NYU helped them reach their greatest potential. College is an investment in your future. And NYU’s Offices of Financial Aid and Financial Support are here to help make sure you understand what you’re taking on. While financial aid officers are available to meet with you and your family during Home for the Weekend, they’re also available throughout the month of April. The Student Life tab is full of information that’ll familiarize you with important campus resources that are dedicated to helping you thrive at NYU. There are so many faculty, administrators, and staff in your corner—and we’ve compiled a few of them here. You’ll also find articles (many of which are written by students) about what it’s like to be part of our community. 

On Tuesdays at 9:00 am ET and Thursdays at 12:00 pm ET throughout April, our student ambassadors are taking you on a live “tour” of our New York campus. Through a mix of photos and personal anecdotes, this facilitated webinar will simulate the experience you’d get on campus—all from the comfort of your home. Not able to attend our View from a Violet session live? No problem! Our virtual campus experience is available 24/7 on demand for a self-guided tour of our Washington Square and Brooklyn locations.

At our campus without walls, so much learning takes place outside of the classroom. At this event, hear directly from current students and alum about how they’re making the most of living and learning in NYC.  Hear about internships, service, and experiential opportunities that happen outside the classroom and how they prepare you to excel in college and beyond. You’ll have an opportunity to ask your pressing questions, and learn more about how to find your community at NYU.

Below, you’ll find just a handful of the NYU Centers that are hosting webinars in April. Attend any of these sessions to learn more about each center’s support services offered, and discover how they help build community. You can reserve your spot on the “Events & More” tab of your Home Base.

This session, hosted by The Center for Global Spiritual Life (GSL), is an interactive workshop where you can connect with other admitted students. Also, you’ll have a chance to learn about the support and resources GSL provides to help you find your community at NYU. 

GSL’s “Your Mission in Motion” event will be held Wednesday, April 13th at 7:00pm ET.

Connect with NYU’s LGBTQ+ community and allies at this event. Further, Center staff will discuss LGBTQ+ life and communities at NYU and NYC.

“A Conversation with the LGBTQ+ Center” will be held Wednesday, April 13th at 1:00 pm ET.

The staff at our Center for Multicultural Education and Programs (CMEP) at NYU is excited to welcome you to the community! At their event, learn all about their offerings for students from marginalized and underrepresented backgrounds and connect with other admitted students.

CMEP’s “Meet ‘n Greet” will be hosted on Thursday, April 15th at 3:00 pm ET.

Our students admitted to our Shanghai and Abu Dhabi campuses have some additional opportunities to learn about their schools. In addition, you can schedule a one on one chat with an admissions counselor or current student to learn more about what it’s like to be part of their vibrant communities.
